There are many inventions that seem so simple yet make such an impact in our lives. One of those inventions happen to be a tape dispenser. It all started out in 1925 when masking tape was invented by a medical engineer. When tape was used on cars it would start to peel the paint as it was removed. This was a problem because it got the job done, but was too strong and began to ruin the cars. In 1930 a lot other kinds of tape were invented such as waterproof tape which helped seal items and help them from getting damaged.After different kinds of tape were designed, people decided that a dispenser would need to be created to help people access each piece easily. The first tape dispenser happened to be made in 1932 from cast iron that weighed nearly seven pounds. After some time people demanded that a more efficient unit came out and that’s when the first handheld tape dispenser was created.The handheld tape dispenser was made of sheet metal and then in 1940 the plastic model came out.
